There has been no official talk of retirement, but it's hard to imagine that's not exactly what this is.

After suffering a brutal injury that cost him the entire 2015-2016 season Stephane Robidas has shown no signs of returning to the game and in fact admitted earlier this summer that the leg injury that had kept him out of the line up had not improved.

Now a report from TSN's James Mirtle has claimed that Robidas is in fact retired after he was spotted in a hockey ops jacket today, having reportedly taken a front office role as a consultant with the Maple Leafs.

It's unclear if any announcement will be forthcoming from the Leafs to make this an official retirement, but even if it doesn't this does appear to be the end of Robidas' career on the ice.
