What the future held for Pittsburgh Penguins veteran goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury became a mystery after, contrary to what many believed would happen, the Penguins did not trade him at the National Hockey League's trade deadline.
Now however insiders believe they finally have a firm grasp on what the future holds for Fleury, and despite rumors that the Las Vegas Golden Knights could look to flip him in a trade deal after acquiring him in the expansion draft, it doesn't sound like that will be the case.
"Unless our information is completely wrong, Marc-Andre Fleury is the pick for Vegas - which means all those other guys are safe," said TSN insider Pierre LeBrun.
"Is he the guy? I think he is. I think they're ready to start shop in October with Fleury in net."
It will be interesting to see how having a true number one goaltender to begin their journey in the National Hockey League will impact how successful the Golden Knights are in their inaugural season.
