Report: Marian Hossa taken to hospital following exhibition game.

One of the National Hockey League's greats was injured following Thursday's exhibition matches for the World Cup of Hockey.

TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie was the first to report that Hossa, who had suffered an undisclosed injury during those games, was taken to a Quebec hospital, and specifically was taken there for the purpose of undergoing some x-rays. Obviously while there was no information given, the need for an x-ray would lead one to believe the injury may be serious.

However NHL analyst Aaron Ward has reported that the injury to Hossa is not a serious cause for concern, but like Lavoie he did not provide any details on the possible nature of the injury to the 37 year old forward.

At this stage of his career people are likely to pay closer attention to any injuries he may suffer and this may have simply been a precautionary measure. We do know that Hossa rejoined Team Europe and is expected to continue participating in the tournament.
