Report: Mike Babcock has high praise for a particular Red Wing!

He may not be flashy, but he sure gets the job done. Red Wings D-man Danny Dekeyser signed with the Wings in March of 2013 as a free agent out of college. As a late bloomer, he had critics to silence and people to impress. Well he has been doing both this season and no one is more impressed with his play than head coach Mike Babcock. As per the Detroit Free Press, Wings coach Mike Babcock says DeKeyser “makes the least mistakes of anybody on our back end. He’s an elite skater, he’s got an elite mind, he’s ultra competitive, he comes every day ready to play.” That is amazingly high praise from a coach who demands excellence, night in-night out, from every player on the team. Not bad for a 24-year-old who wasn’t even drafted.
