The Pittsburgh Penguins roster has often dealt with concussion issues and on Monday head coach Mike Sullivan made another announcement on that regard.

When speaking to the assemble media Sullivan announced that veteran forward Carl Hagelin had suffered the concussion during the Penguins 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday and as a result had entered the National Hockey League's concussion protocol.

“He was diagnosed with a concussion and is in concussion protocol right now. He skated on his own this morning," said Sullivan.

The Penguins depth at forward will now be tested as Hagelin joins two other core forwards in Evgeni Malkin and Conor Sheary on the sidelines and Hagelin himself has often served as the role player who steps up to fill gaps in the line up in these scenarios.
