Report: MTS Centre getting a re-brand for 2017-18
Keystone Press

The MTS Centre is no more. The Winnipeg Jets have announced that their home arena in downtown Winnipeg will be now known as the Bell MTS Place.

The minor change reflects the recent acquisition of MTS by Canadian media giant Bell, which took place in late 2016. MTS now operates at Bell MTS, so it’s only natural that the corporation’s sponsorship agreement with the Jets be amended to reflect the change.

It’s hard to believe that the building which helped lure the NHL back to Winnipeg is now 13 years old, but it’s true. And now, as the building continues through its adolescent phase, it has chosen a new moniker. Hello, Bell MTS Place.
