Another National Hockey League team is trying to sign free agent Jaromir Jagr.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Arizona Coyotes are believed to be one of the teams that contacted the 45-year-old. The veteran had recently mentioned the possibility of starting the season in Europe, to take part in the Olympics and then choose an NHL team for the remainder of the season.
"One GM who said he thought about it, then didn’t contact Jagr, decided it didn’t make sense for his team because the 1,900-point scorer wouldn’t get much power play time," wrote Friedman.
But the Coyotes could be interested. The Calgary Flames have showed interest in signing the free agent too, but Jagr remains patient. He might not want to join the Coyotes, and compete for a Stanley Cup contender.
