The sunny skies forecast for Thursday's Winter Classic between the Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals are causing a bit of a safety issue. Nationals Park is flooded in sunlight, causing a significant amount of glare. It is apparently so bad that NHL officials are considering pushing back the start time for the game. If the conditions are deemed too dangerous for the players, it is a distinct possibility the game could be delayed by an hour or two. “We want to drop the puck on time,” NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said. “Worst-case, if we have a delay we anticipate it will be a short delay.” A final decision will be made closer to game-time Thursday.
