One National Hockey League general manager may have spoken a little too openly.
As most of you will now know, Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning effectively blew the lid off the trade rumors involving Montreal Canadiens superstar P.K. Subban yesterday when he revealed he had been involved in negations with the Habs. During the same radio interview Benning also revealed his intent to target Steven Stamkos should he become a free agent.
It's these comments that have landed Benning in hot water, and in fact according to a report from TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie, the National Hockey League is currently looking in to complaints that Benning's comments amounted to tampering.
It's unclear at this time what this will be for Benning or the Canucks.
