When a bad day turns into a good one... 

Forward John Mitchell has joined the Columbus Blue Jackets on a professional tryout (PTO). Mitchell was with the Chicago Blackhawks this camp before being released today and subsequently brought in by the Blue Jackets.

In 65 games last season with the Colorado Avalanche, Mitchell scored three goals and added four assists. Prior to playing with the Avalanche, Mitchell played with the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs.
