Report: No.1 Selling Jersey

In case you were living under a rock over the course of the last week, then you surely missed out on Auston Matthews’ historic debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night against the Ottawa Senators.

 

No player before him has ever scored four goals in their first career NHL game, but Matthews demonstrated that he’s got all of the tools to be an absolute superstar in the National Hockey League.

 

 

So much so, that the Maple Leafs decided to put his official jersey up for sale only after his ground-breaking debut. This turned out to be a stroke of marketing genius, as his jersey has been the highest-selling one to date.

 

Quite surprising, to say the least.
