P.K. Subban Addresses Sidney Crosby’s Punches in the Head

Late in the second period, Sidney Crosby got tied up with Predators defenseman P.K. Subban. Crosby shove Subban’s head up against the ice before dropping several short punches to the head of the Predators defenseman, and eventually both men were sent off with a matching pair of minor penalties.

Following game 5, Sidney Crosby told the media why he punched Subban in the head multiple times in game 5 by simply stating “I dunno what he was doing, some UFC move on my foot,” Crosby said. “I dunno what he was trying to do but, I was trying to get out of there. He had lost his stick. He was just trying to hold me down. I dunno what he was trying to do my ankle there, but…”

It was now time for P.K. Subban to address the situation. “It’s hockey, man,” Subban said to simply close Sidney Crosby’s case and move on from there.

As reported by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Sean Gentille Subban shrugged off the fact that both wound up in the penalty box, even though an ankle lock is objectively lower on the totem pole of injurious plays than whatever Crosby did to him.
