After months of speculation as to where he would sign, free-agent forward Patrick Kane has made his decision.

According to multiple reports, he will be re-joining his old teammate Alex DeBrincat and sign with the Detroit Red Wings.

Kane's other choices that he had been considering were reportedly the Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

The fact that the Red Wings now have Kane's former teammate in Alex DeBrincat is part of the lure of Detroit for him. As you remember, Kane had incredible chemistry playing with DeBrincat in Chicago.

The ironic thing is that Kane's debut could come against one of his former teams, as the Red Wings take on the New York Rangers tomorrow night and then the Blackhawks on Thursday night.

One of the best American-born players in NHL history, Kane has appeared in a total of 1,180 NHL games and has scored 451 goals with 786 assists; he's also scored 53 goals and 85 assists in 143 postseason games, helping the Blackhawks to three separate Stanley Cup championship wins.

How will he fit on a Red Wings team that is clearly on the rise?
