He's set to make his official debut with the Montreal Canadiens.
According to NHL insider Darren Dreger, star forward Patrik Laine will make his regular season debut for the Montreal Canadiens this evening.
From Dreger:
Laine has been out of the team's lineup since suffering a devastating knee injury during the pre-season. Laine, of course, was acquired by the Canadiens this past offseason in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He'll be expected to inject the team with some offense, particularly on the power play where they have struggled to find consistency this season. Laine is in the 3rd year of a four year deal that pays him a whopping $8.7 million annually.
