For the first time in 15 years, outside of the NHL/NHLPA labor stoppage in 2012, veteran forward Pavel Datsyuk will play professional hockey for a team not named the Detroit Red Wings.

According to former NHL player turned analyst Aaron Ward the former Red Wings has officially agreed to the terms of a two year deal with the Kontinental Hockey League's SKA St. Petersburg. Ward is reporting that Datsyuk will earn a total of $7.6 million over the two years of his contract.

Russian reporter Aivus Kalnins confirmed that report when he published a photograph of Datsyuk signing on the dotted line, correctly stating that it doesn't get any more official than that.
