Report: Player receives hefty fine for blatant elbow.

Winnipeg Jets forward Alex Burmistrov has been fined $4,166.67 for his elbow on Minnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon.

The incident occurred during the second period of the Jets' 5-4 win on Sunday. Burmistrov received a two-minute minor for elbowing on the play.

At first Burmistrov argued the call all the way to the penalty box, but then couldn't disagree with the call after watching a replay from the penalty box.

The fine is the maximum allowable under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
