Report: Projected lineup for tonight's game against Fleury's Golden Knights!
KeyStone Press

The Pittsburgh Penguins take on the Vegas Golden Knights in a hotly-anticipated match featuring the first meeting between Matt Murray and Marc-Andre Fleury following June's expansion draft.

While the major storyline following the Penguins as of late is the "major trade" hanging over their heads after Jim Rutherford spoke publicly about his unhappiness with the team on Wednesday, that narrative will be put on hold as Fleury faces his former team for the first time in his career.

Here are the projected lineups for tonight's match. There was a very optional skate this morning so no line rushes were taken, meaning they should be identical to those we saw against the Colorado Avalanche - with the major exception being Murray in net instead of Tristan Jarry.

Jake Guentzel - Sidney Crosby - Conor Sheary

Bryan Rust - Evgeni Malkin - Phil Kessel

Dominik Simon - Riley Sheahan - Patric Hornqvist

Carl Hagelin - Carter Rowney - Ryan Reaves

Brian Dumoulin - Kris Letang

Olli Maatta - Matt Hunwick

Ian Cole - Chad Ruhwedel

There was a chance of Tom Kuhnhackl as well as Josh Archibald coming in but that did not transpire as they were last ones off of the ice at morning skate.

There's also the chance that Simon gets some time on Crosby's wing - remains to be seen. Mike Sullivan has not been shy to tinker with the lines throughout games, so while these are the projected starting lines, don't be surprised if the game ends with different combinations.
