Multiple NHL insiders have linked Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane to the New York Rangers via trade rumors for months now, yet there's still no deal in earnest. The two sides have reportedly been working on the makings of a deal for awhile now, but the Rangers had to do some salary cap clearing in order the make it happen. Now though, the stage is set.

The Rangers have the cap space to acquire Kane (assuming salary retention) and RA of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast reported last that Kane will in fact be traded to the Rangers today.

So, all signs are pointing to a Kane trade this evening, but... hasn't that been the case for weeks now? It seems like we've been hearing about Kane to NYC rumors for months now and yet neither side has pulled the trigger on a deal. Frankly, I'm inclined to just sit back and watch the show because at this rate there won't be much left for trade deadline day on Friday!
