According to a report from Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News, Red Wings management is on the verge of making a major decision regarding their future at the goaltending position. Kulfan reports that general manager Ken Holland will meet with head coach Mike Babcock and Red Wings goaltending coach Jim Bedard in order to make a decision on the future of young Petr Mrazek. Mrazek has shown some flashes of brilliance in his time in net for the team, but his performances have been marred by serious consistency issues. The Red Wings are about to enter a playoff race and are likely contemplating this decision now due to the improving health of Jonas Gustavsson. According to Kuflan the meeting will be held tomorrow, no word yet on when we can expect an official announcement.
