He could soon be skating in his 1st NHL game since mid-October.
For fans of the Detroit Red Wings who were hoping that they would call up forward Jakub Vrana from the American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins, it appears as though you may just get your wish.
According to multiple reports including from David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Detroit plans on bringing back the goal scoring forward in short order:
Vrana was placed on waivers by the Red Wings last month, raising several eyebrows and calling into question his future with the organization, though none of the 31 other teams picked him up.
Meanwhile, in 17 games with the Griffins, Vrana has scored six goals with five assists. He appeared in two games with the Red Wings this season before entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program for an undisclosed personal issue.
