Report: Russian source confirms Ovechkin was playing with two significant injuries.

There are now reports that Washington Capitals superstar Alexander Ovechkin was battling through injuries in the playoffs, and they come from an incredibly reliable source.

Russian hockey reporter Igor Eronko of Sports-Express is reporting that he has been informed by the head coach of the Russian national team that Ovechkin was dealing with not one but two injuries in the postseason.

The reveal comes after Ovechkin declined to play at the IIHF World Championship, and given Ovechkin's love of playing for Russia it's no surprise he is injured if he is indeed sitting out the tournament.

According to Eronko the injuries are to Ovechkin's knee and his hamstring, although the severity of both injuries has not been disclosed at this time.
