According to a report from Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports in Quebec, former Montreal Canadiens and current Buffalo Sabres defensemen Nathan Beaulieau has requested a trade.

Lavoie points to Beaulieau’s lack of playing time, especially in a contract season, as his impetus for wanting to move on.

The 26 year old native of Strathroy, Ontario has just three goals and seven points in 26 games with the Sabres this season and has effectively been pushed out of the lineup by super rookie Rasmus Dahlin and 23 year old Swede Lawrence Pilut.

Beaulieau was traded to the Sabres back in the 2017 offseason for a third round pick, after an impressive 28 point campaign with the Habs during the 2016-17 season. With the Sabres though, Beaulieau has failed to put up anything close to those kind of numbers managing just 16 points in 85 games over two seasons.
