The Buffalo Sabres made a very popular announcement on Thursday when they announced the hiring of general manager Jason Botterilland now it sounds like there may be another announcement coming in short order.

Botterill addressed the media following his hiring, and he was asked about the first coaching hire of his career as the Buffalo Sabres general manager. While Botterill didn't hint  at who he was considering for a hire, he did lay out the characteristics he seeks in a coach.

"The things I look for are a developer, an educator, a communicator," said Botterill as per WGRZ's Heather Prusak.

Furthermore, according to Prusak Botterill also informed the press that he was hoping to make a coaching hire inside a very limited time frame.

"I'd like to have something in place by the draft."

That gives Botterill just over one month to execute his search for a coach and make a hire in time to have his coach ready for the draft.
