A very important deal.
It seems like one Winnipeg Jet's star is getting frustrated with the way contract negotiations have gone thus far.
On Thursday Andrew Ladd spoke to TSN and made it clear he wants a deal done as quickly as possible, and definitely before the season begins. According to Ladd the intense market he plays in has made it even more difficult for him to deal with the wait.
“It would be nicer to get it done before the year … especially in a market like this, there are questions every day, so it’d be nice to move past it at some point,” Ladd said, as per TSN. “I’ve been around long enough that I know sometimes these things take time. I think both parties are interested in getting something done. All the things add up.”
It seems insane to let a player like Ladd sit in limbo on a contract extension, yes he will likely ask for a hefty raise on his current deal but coming off a very good 62 point season not to mention the fact he's the team's captain.
The Jets would be wise to sign Ladd sooner rather than later.
