The Dallas Stars showed the Carolina Hurricanes no mercy on Tuesday night.

Patrick Eaves opened up the scoring for Dallas roughly 7 minutes into the game, and less than 30 seconds later teammate Jamie Benn added another goal to give the Stars an early 2-0 lead.

While it's fair to be critical of veteran goaltender Cam Ward, who has had his struggles this season, he was really hung out to dry by his defense tonight and it didn't get any better. Dallas would go on to score two more in the first period and the Hurricanes would eventually pull Cam Ward in an effort to stop the bleeding.

Here's a look at all four goals from the first period.
