The Toronto Maple Leafs are attempting to woo one of the best goalie coaches to their side. According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the team is currently looking at goalie coach Sean Burke. Burke is currently a member of the Arizona Coyotes organization. A former teammate of Brendan Shanahan, Burke was named Arizona's (formerly Phoenix) Director of Prospect Development in 2008 and also became the team's goaltending coach in 2010. In 2012, Burke was promoted to Assistant General Manager while remaining goaltending coach. He was a mentor to Mike Smith and this season's surprise goalie, current Minnesota Wild starter Devan Dubnyk. On a day where the Maple Leafs landed highly touted head coach Mike Babcock, this could be another good signing for a team looking to rebuild from the ground up.
