It seems that every week, rumours about Dustin Byfuglien send him to a different team.
But despite popular belief, it seems that the Jets would like the retain Byfuglien's services and are trying to re-sign him. Big Buff is a pending unrestricted free agent and would likely benefit from testing free agency.
According to Elliot Friedman from Sportsnet's, the Jets would take a real run at Byfuglien:
"There are a number of teams who would love to get him as a rental player at the deadline," Friedman said. "But the word everyone seems to be getting is they are going to take a real run at trying to sign him."
Big Buff is playing the last year of his contract that paid him $26M over a period of 5 years.
This season, the versatile defenseman scored 11 goals and 14 assists in 48 games.
