It appears the Red Wings will be without one of their biggest stars for their upcoming Florida road trip.
The Detroit Red Wings' star center
Pavel Datsyuk will miss starts against the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning this week due to a lower-body injury, head coach Mike Babcock told reporters.
It is difficult to pinpoint exactly what caused the injury and when. Datsyuk played just under 16 minutes in last Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, and appeared to take regular shifts through to the final whistle.
As a result his status for Sunday's game with the St. Louis Blues remains questionable.
Let's hope the Wings can make due without him.
