Another day, another batch of PTO contracts in the NHL.

Salary cap resource CapFriendly is reporting that veterans Christopher Gibson (G), Nate Thompson (F) and Daniel Sprong (F) have all signed PTO's. Gibson will be heading to the Arizona Coyotes, Thompson to the Los Angeles Kings and Sprong to the Seattle Kraken.

Check it out:

To me, Gibson is the most intriguing contract here. The Coyotes currently have just one goaltender under contract, giving Gibson the inside track at landing at least a back up position or an AHL starting position.

As for Thompson, he has bounced around the league a ton over the course of his 14 year NHL career and is looking to hook back up with the Kings for the second time. He last played for the Kings in 2019 and played last season with the Philadelphia Flyers.

As for Sprong... is this his last shot? He's 25 years old now and has been tagged as a potential breakout player for five seasons now. He failed to live up to the hype in Pittsburgh, Anaheim and Washington... you have to imagine that if he can't catch on with the sophomore Kraken then he's likely destined for a career of AHL/NHL tweener life.
