Report: Veteran forward placed on waivers, buyout expected.

The Canucks appear to be ready to move on from one of their veteran forwards.

The organization has once again placed 33 year old Chris Higgins on waivers, and while last season when Higgins cleared waivers he was buried in the minors, this time around it appears that the Canucks will use one of their buyouts on him.

According to Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman the Canucks have in fact waived him for the purpose of a buyout, undoubtedly a trough situation for Higgins who handled his demotion last season with grace.

It will be interesting to see if he is given another opportunity with a different team.
