A very rough start to the season.
We reported earlier today that veteran forward Chris Higgins had been spotted in a walking boot, something that obviously suggest a somewhat serious injury, and now we know why.
The Vancouver Canucks have revealed that Higgins suffered a bone fracture in his foot when he blocked a shot during the team's first preseason game of this NHL season.
Higgins will now miss at the very least three weeks, which is when Canucks medical staff will re-evaluate him and the injury. It's a rough start for a forward that is the later stages of his career, and a rough start for the Canucks.
