With veteran Brooks Laich officially clearing waivers yesterday, it appears as though his NHL career may be over. His contract with the Los Angeles Kings was terminated yesterday, after playing just 12 games for the Kings this season.
James Mirtle of The Atheletic reports that Laich will likely retire now.
In 776 career games, mostly with the Washington Capitals, Laich managed 134 goals and 332 points. He reached a career high in goals (25) and points (59) in 2009-10, but has struggled in recent years never scoring more than 10 goals in any recent campaign.
