The Wild announced a new player development coach this week, former NHL player Richard Park will be taking over the role. Park, who played three seasons with the Wild from 2001-2004, had spent the last two years playing for Ambri-Piotta in Switzerland before deciding to retire as a player a join the Wild's organization. Park will be spending the majority of his time with the AHL affiliate Iowa Wild, his primary roles will be working with and assisting in the development of the young players there. He is expected to begin his new role with the team this week. Park, who put up 74 points in his two seasons with the Wild, is probably best remembered by Wild fans for his overtime winner in game 6 of the 2003 Stanley Cup playoffs against the Colorado Avalanche.
