Reports of trade talks between the Flyers and the Kings.

It's no secret that the Los Angeles Kings are currently looking for a goaltender, and they may be looking to a familiar trade partner to make it happen.

According to a report from Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedmanthe Kings and the Philadelphia Flyers have had discussion regarding the possibility of moving goaltender Steve Mason. Friedman also notes that Mason's salary cap hit of $4.1 million complicates matters, and it would require some creativity to make it a reality.

We of course know that teams can retain as much as 50% of a player's salary in a trade, something that while making it a much easier pill to swallow for Los Angeles, would likely also increase the Flyer's demand in terms of a return from the Kings.

The Flyers and Kings have often connected on deals that saw big names on the move including Luke Schenn, Vincent Lecavalier, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, and many more, and there's also a connection with Flyers' general manager Ron Hextall who made his management chops in L.A's front office, so it would comes as little surprise to see these two hook up for another deal.
