Reports that Milan Lucic will snub his hometown in free agency.

There were many fans who were hoping that veteran bruiser Milan Lucic would return to his hometown for his next big National Hockey League contract, but it's starting to sound like that may not be the case.

While both Milan Lucic himself and the Vancouver Canucks, through general manager Jim Benning, have expressed an interest in working out a deal with one another, report Rob Williams says that's unlikely.

Williams claims to have been informed by a source that Lucic will "likely not" sign with the Canucks, Williams did not elaborate on what the motivation in this scenario could be. 

It appears that Lucic is hoping to sign one big final contract, and there's also some belief that he is hoping to land on a serious contender, two factors that could potentially rule out the Canucks.
