The Islanders are going all in!
We've known for nearly a week now that the Vancouver Canucks are trading veteran defenseman Tyler Myers... the question isn't if he'll be traded, it's when and where to.
The Canucks have held Myers out of the lineup for the past two games for "trade purposes" and there have been rumors that he's headed to either the Detroit Red Wings or the Dallas Stars but so far no trade has materialized.
Today though, New York Islanders insider Stefan Rosner is reporting that the Canucks and Isles are in "serious trade discussions" today and that the likely targets are Myers and forward Conor Garland.
It's worth noting that the Islanders have over $6 million in cap space and have two 1st round picks, their own and the Colorado Avalanche's, in this upcoming summer's draft. In other words, they have all the capital they need to acquire both Myers and Garland if the two teams can come to terms.
Stay tuned.
