Robert Hagg is cold as ice when asked about his former teammates.

Hagg may be a robot.

The National Hockey League can be a harsh environment to work in if you're a professional hockey player, one where you can have your entire life tossed into disarray on the whims of a general manager who wishes to trade you across the country or even possibly to an entirely different country. In that kind of environment it can be in your best interest to not get too attached to any one place given that you might not be there very long.

It would seem that veteran NHL defenseman Robert Hagg may have taken that to heart if his comments from his most recent interview are to be believed, although admittedly it did seem like Hagg was having a good time and not simply being a stone cold assassin for hire. Hagg was recently traded by the Buffalo Sabres to the Florida Panthers, a move that no doubt made him quite happy considering the fact that the Panthers are a legitimate contender for the Stanley Cup whereas the Sabres are anything but. As a result of the recent trade Hagg was interviewed prior to a win for the Panthers on Sunday, a win that just so happened to come over his former team in the Buffalo Sabres.

As you would expect the usual questions were asked of Hagg regarding the trade and his feelings on the move, but it was when he was asked about whether or not he had used the opportunity to reconnect with any friends that he dropped his best line of the interview. Hagg made it clear that no such people existed on the opposing team.

"I don't have any friends," answered Hagg with a smile when asked about potential friends on the other side of the ice.

The smile on his face would appear to indicate that this was merely Hagg being cute in front of the camera and in front of his new fans in Florida, but then again maybe the 27 year old former second round pick is just a ruthless hockey playing robot.
