It started with Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens, and then veteran Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne saved him by taking a dramatic pause between the first and last name of the Preds’ second pick of the night in the first round.
Rinne was with captain Roman Jose to announce the Predators’ 24th pick and when the netminder was to say the name of defenseman Tanner Molendyk, he took a long pause almost as if he too had forgotten the last name of his team’s selection.

Earlier in the night, Price forgot the name of the player the Habs were drafting with the fifth overall pick in defenseman David Reinbacher, who no one really saw coming.

This prompted former NHL goalie and now Florida Panthers special adviser to the GM Roberto Luongo to poke fun at the goalies.

“The tendies are having a tough night selecting picks.”

I kinda wanna to cry when I saw Price struggling on stage, but Lou is right: before laugh about it!
