Rock'Em Sock'Em Brawl in WHL Preseason Game.

Hockey season is upon us and thank goodness for that with preseason games getting underway in some leagues already while the National Hockey League will begin its schedule later this month.

In spite of the fact that it's only the preseason we're already seeing some spectacular highlights making the rounds on social media, notably this recent Rock'Em Sock'Em type brawl between the Swift Current Broncos Jacob Beaulieu and the Saskatoon Blades Triston Mitchell-McElhone.

Mitchell-McElhone was the much younger combatant in this one at just 17 years of age, but despite that he is the significantly larger man at 6'1 and 199lbs. Beaulieu comes in at just 5'9 and 175 lbs, a significant size difference, but in spite of that he showed no fear and gave as good as he got in this one.

The two men started off at center ice and, although there was some fighting for position in the initial moments, it wouldn't be long before fists were flying. At one point the two men stood toe to toe trading blows one after another, with neither willing to back down. Mercifully, Mitchell-McElhone would use his size advantage to maul Beaulieu down to the ice and the officials stepped in to put a stop to this one.

If both of these young men were looking to make an impression in the preseason there's no question that the level of toughness they showed in this one will be noticed.
