Rookie appears to win spot on Leafs blueline
The blue line sweepstakes may finally be over in Toronto.

Throughout September, the Toronto Maple Leafs had three clear contenders for the last spot on the team's blue line.
It was a close race between Calle Rosen, Andreas Borgman, and Roman Polak - but it appears we now know who has won the spot.
Roman Polak is currently on a PTO with the team, and could potentially earn a contract with the team as a 7th or even 8th defenseman. The real race seemed to be between Rosen and Borgman, two players who were signed to entry-level contracts as free agents from Europe.
Obviously there are still a couple days before the season starts so things can change, but having Borgman paired up with Connor Carrick is a pretty strong sign that he's won the favour of the coaching staff.
