Rookie forward seen leaving arena during non-optional practice.

There is an interesting situation developing in New York.

According to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch, Blue Jackets' rookie Kerby Rychel was spotted leaving Madison Square Garden, while the rest of his teammates engaged in a non-optional skate.

If Rychel's name sounds familiar, it's probably because there have been reports that he is unhappy with his playing time in Columbus.

The forward has reportedly been sent to the Blue Jackets' AHL affiliate, and this could be a strong indicator that the team may be ready to deal him away today.

The 21-year old has 12 points in 37 career NHL games.

We will update you as this situation unfolds.
