Roster news that impact both Oilers and Panthers for Game 2
Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final takes place tonight in Edmonton, and these are the projected lineups : see below!
Earlier on Friday, both the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers took the ice for their respective morning skate and insiders and reporters attending the practice had a first look at the projected lineups ahead of tonight’s Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.
The Panthers were hoping to have A.J. Greer back in the lineup, however, after the skate, head coach Paul Maurice confirmed that Greer will not be in the lineup tonight. Greer has dealing with the lower-body injury that kept him out of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference final. He was replaced by Jesper Boqvist for Game 1.
There is a chance Greer could return to the Cats’ lineup for Game 3 on Monday in Florida.
This is the Panthers’ projected line up for tonight:
Rodrigues - Barkov - Reinhart
Verhaeghe - Bennett - Tkachuk
Luostarinen - Lundell - Marchand
Boqvist - Nosek - Gadjovich
Forsling - Ekblad
Mikkola - Jones
Schmidt - Kulikov
Bobrovsky
As for the Oilers, the lineup also appears to be the same as Game 1, with, let’s not forget, captain Connor McDavid and superstar forward and Game 1 overtime hero Leon Draisaitl playing on separate lines.
This is the protected lineup for the Oilers in Game 2 vs. Florida tonight:
RNH - McDavid - Perry
Kane - Draisaitl - Kapanen
Frederic - Henrique - Brown
Podkolzin - Janmark - Arvidsson
Ekholm - Bouchard
Nurse - Kulak
Walman - Klingberg
Skinner
While the lineups remain the same, we all saw how crazy and wild Game 1 was and how it led to overtime.
We only expect the same, or even better, tonight in Game 2, which kicks off in Edmonton at 8ETpm.
