On the move amidst disastrous time in LA!?

Saying that forward Pierre-Luc Dubois has struggled since being traded from the Winnipeg Jets to the Los Angeles Kings during the offseason is an understatement. Despite putting up a goal in Thursday’s 4-3 overtime win over Ottawa, Dubois has only managed to record a total of 14 goals and 28 points in 62 games with his new team. Which has now landed him back on the trade block with hours to go until the deadline as Senators reporter Jacob Billington has heard rumblings that the Kings are shopping Dubois and even that the Boston Bruins might have kicked the tires.

It is said that the Kings have asked about the goalie tandem of Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman in Boston.

In past weeks, rumours have emerged that Ullmark has drawn a lot of interest from contenders out there, especially since Bruins insider Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic wondered if Boston could dare to trade the netminder.

Many believe Swayman is ready to be the team’s full-time starter. The young goalie signed a one-year, $3.475 million contract in arbitration last summer and is scheduled for restricted free agency again in July. He could be given the full starting role and the Bruins could go get an affordable veteran backup option to support him in the future.

A move involving Ullmark would provide the Bruins the opportunity to upgrade other areas of the roster while also freeing up $5 million in cap space.

However I can’t say that a like the thought of Dubois coming in to Boston since he hasn’t proven to be top forward he once was this season in California.

Only hours to go now…
