The Trade Deadline is still a few months away, but the phones are already ringing across the National Hockey League. But, more importantly, most the calls all seem to be coming from three specific teams.

On Tuesday, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman explained on Vancouver’s Sportsnet 650 that the Montreal  Canadiens, New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers have been busy shopping around for help.  The three of them have been very active, not only scouting one another’s games but also calling in and trying to move certain players.

Habs GM Marc Bergevin recently mentioned that he is looking for solutions within his dressing room and that’s because he hasn’t found anything worthwhile on the market.

The Oilers and GM Peter Chiarelli have been trying to move pieces, like veteran winger Jussi Jokinen and defenseman Matt Benning. Since no other team has bitten, Edmonton might start by calling up young winger Jesse Puljujarvi.

"I think [Chiarelli] is a guy who is willing to try a few different things to see what’s out there," Friedman added, as reported by Fanrag Sports

As for the Rangers, they have been spotted looking at the Canadiens, more precisely at forwards Andrew Shaw and Alex Galchenyuk. Rumors say that veteran Rick Nash, who is set for unrestricted free agency, could be moved before the deadline.

So I think the Rangers are going to be fascinating to watch between now and the end of the season. I think at some point in time Nash will be traded. And I think they’re going to have a lot of questions about a guy like Chris Kreider," Friedman said.

The three GMs have been very active : now, which one will succeed at pulling the trigger on a major deal?
