Rumor: Are the Maple Leafs blackmailing Joffrey Lupul?
Insane accusations against the Leafs.
HockeyFeed
There is a shocking report from the Toronto media, and while it is certainly sensational we're not sure how credible it is given the source.
In a recent article for the Toronto Sun Steve Simmons, a man best known for writing what is now viewed as a largely bogus story about former Leafs star Phil Kessel and his hot dogs habits, suggested that the Leafs may be using some form of blackmail to keep Joffrey Lupul quiet.
Word around for some time has been that there is more to this story, that the Leafs have something on the veteran winger. Something damaging they just might release should Lupul become an annoyance to them. Either he was reminded of that on Sunday or an agent reminded him or maybe he just had the sense himself to take the post down.
Simmons did not disclose his sources or even hint at where he may have heard this from, but it is true that Lupul did make some serious allegations about the Leafs on social media, allegations that were quickly taken down presumably by Lupul himself.
If there is any truth to what Simmons is saying it will likely come to light sooner rather than later, however if this is a another hot dog story it will damage his credibility even more.
