Rumor: Blackhawks have their eyes on a big prize at the deadline.

The defending Stanley Cup Champions are definitely looking for a repeat and it appears they have their eyes set on a player that they could acquire through trade, one who would certainly provide a big boost to their line up, not that the Blackhawks are in desperate need of offensive help.

Nonetheless TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzie has reported that the Blackhawks have significant interest in Winnipeg Jets forward Andrew Ladd, this is of course assuming the Jets do in fact decide to trade their captain, as rumors suggest they will.

The fit would make a lot of sense, Ladd is a skilled forward who brings size and grit, two factors that play a bigger role in the post season than they do in the regular season, and furthermore he's very familiar with Chicago and vice versa. Ladd previously spent three season with the Blackhawks during his NHL career.
