The Boston Bruins are reportedly not happy with their current group of potential backup goaltenders, and it's not hard to see why that might be.

In a recent report Bruins analyst Jimmy Murphy revealed that a source within the Boston Bruins organization has informed him that while it's expected that Anton Khudobin will enter training camp as the backup for Tuukka Rask, general manager Don Sweeney is "still looking for a better option."

Rask has been a workhorse for the Bruins but there is a belief that the Bruins want to lessen his workload, if only slightly, after three huge seasons where he appeared in goal for over 60 games in each season.

The Bruins likely were hoping that draft bust Malcolm Subban would eventually fill that role, however it now seems highly unlikely that he will ever develop into the goaltender they were hoping he would be.

Murphy reports that should Sweeney fail to add another goalie, Zack McIntyre will be given a shot at claiming the backup job from Khudobin. Given the performance McIntyre had in his 8 games with the Bruins last season, that's unlikely to inspire confidence in the fan base.
