Rumor: Bruins talking trade with multiple teams

A trade or two could be in the works within the next couple weeks!

The Boston Bruins have been struggling out of the gate this year - and a huge part of that is the massive amount of injuries they've dealt with to key players.

Brad Marchand, David Krejci, Torey Krug, Patrice Bergeron, Tuukka Rask, and others have all been out or are still out due to injury and it's caused the team to stumble down the Eastern conference standings with a 6-6-4 record.

As it stands now, they are 3rd worst in the East.

Jimmy Murphy reported Sunday night that he knows "for a fact that the Bruins and the Vegas Golden Knights have had some talks. I don't know what regarding. My suspicions are that it's defenseman Shea Theodore. I also know that the Anaheim Ducks right now are looking for forward help, and if David Krejci was healthy, man would he be a good trade chip to go and pry away one of the great defensemen the Anaheim Ducks have.

"So as we go forward here, if the Bruins don't go .500 on this trip at least, you have to wonder if we're going to see some new additions and some guys shipped out when the ice is uncovered here at TD Garden."

The Bruins begin a 4-game road trip out West in California.

As Murphy mentioned, he doesn't have specific names just yet, but he does have the intel that talks are ongoing with George McPhee and the Golden Knights. He also sees the fit with Anaheim as they are a team with a surplus of talented D. Sami Vatanen could very well be a player that Don Sweeney is taking a look at there.

There was also believed to be some interest in Matt Duchene before the trade went down, so it's clear that Sweeney has something cooking - Boston isn't the type of organization to fold early in a season.

Players that Sweeney wants to get rid of are obvious names such as Matt BeleskeyFrank Vatrano, and Ryan Spooner. But none of those guys will fetch the kind of players he needs to help the Bruins contend. He'll have to sacrifice some important young assets and picks.

A trade or 2 could very likely happen in the near future - especially if this road trip doesn't end well.
