Rumor: Canucks and Lightning talking trade for top prospect

According to Rick Dhaliwal, reporter for Sportsnet 650, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning could be making a trade soon. The team is actually dealing with a lot of injuries in the defensive core, and Benning might be tempted to make a trade to acquire a really good young defenseman.

Slater Koekkoek, 23, was drafted 10th overall by the Tampa Bay Litghtning in 2012. In 46 games played in the NHL, he registered seven points. In five games with the Lightning so far this season, the Canadian defenseman scored two goals.
