The Vancouver Canucks are apparently nowhere near done with their offseason.

According to a report from TSN's Matthew Sekeres the Canucks have discussed the possibility of adding none other than forward Thomas Vanek, arguably the best available free-agent at this time with the possible exception of Jaromir Jagr.

Furthermore according to Sekeres the Canucks are also contemplating the possibility of adding other forwards, however he did not mention any of them by name.

Sekeres has also revealed that the Canucks have extended two professional tryout offers although once again the identity of these players was not revealed.

While this is purely speculation, these decision from the Canucks would appear to indicate that the team will look to field the most competitive team possible and avoid moving towards a rebuild for at least one more NHL season.
